1.35 million overnight guests in 2025
The emirate's own visitor figure for 2025, against a scheduled network of sixteen destinations. Most of those guests arrive through another airport and drive north.
Route development · RKT / OMRK
RKT carried 1,000,303 passengers in 2025, half as many again as the year before, on a single 3,760-metre runway with no queue behind it. The demand that will fill the next wave of capacity is being built fifteen minutes from the threshold, on Al Marjan Island.
Traffic
The airport's own published results for 2025. Cargo tonnage for 2025 has not been released, so it is not shown.
Catchment
RKT sits 18 km south of Ras Al Khaimah city on Digdaga Road, at the top of the E11 corridor that runs the length of the northern emirates. The published road distances are below; treat drive times as typical rather than guaranteed.
| From and to | Distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| RKT → Ras Al Khaimah city centre | 18 km | About 20 minutes |
| Sharjah (SHJ) → Ras Al Khaimah city | 60 km | About 35 minutes |
| Dubai (DXB) → Ras Al Khaimah city | 85 km | About 45 minutes |
| Abu Dhabi (AUH) → Ras Al Khaimah city | 250 km | About 2.5 hours |
| RKT → Dubai (DXB) | About 98 km | 60–90 minutes, traffic dependent |
Demand
Ras Al Khaimah is adding hotel inventory faster than it is adding seats. The three items below are the ones that move an airline's forecast.

A 1,530-room integrated resort on Al Marjan Island, reported at USD 5.1–5.7 billion and as the only licensed commercial gaming venue in the UAE. Opening date and scope are as reported by the developer and the emirate, not by the airport.
Around 30,000 m² under construction, planned for three million passengers a year with an upgraded baggage system, e-gates and expanded customs and passport control. Dates and capacity are targets and remain subject to change.
Network
Three scheduled passenger carriers and one based freighter operator. Sixteen international destinations were claimed for 2025 across India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Egypt; several are seasonal, so plan against live schedules rather than against a list.
The dominant carrier at RKT since 2014, with Air Arabia Cargo in the belly hold. Serves the Indian, Pakistani, Egyptian, Saudi and CIS markets from here.
Indian metro and secondary points, and cargo to Mumbai.
Kerala and northern Indian points, with a strong VFR and labour-mobility base behind them.
A Ras Al Khaimah-based dedicated freighter operator flying the A320-200P2F, holding a UAE AOC since October 2024 and reported to serve regional points plus India and Vietnam.
Where we are looking
This is commercial intent, not a forecast we are asking you to accept. If your network planning team sees it differently we would rather hear that.
Operating conditions
The things that decide whether a rotation works. These are AIP and airport-published figures — confirm current values against the UAE AIP and NOTAMs before you plan against them.
Commercial terms
The airport does not publish a standing route-incentive scheme, and we are not going to invent one on a web page. Terms are discussed directly, route by route, against the risk you are taking and the season you are taking it in. The aeronautical tariff still shown on the legacy site is dated 2011 and is not current — ask for the live tariff and it will be sent to you in writing.
Next step
Send the route, the season, the equipment and the frequency you are modelling. You will get traffic data, tariffs and a turnaround plan back, and a meeting if it is worth one.
Route development, advertising, retail, office space and land enquiries are handled by the same team.
Enquiries go to the airport's commercial team. Nothing is reserved, allocated or priced until we have replied in writing.
Traffic figures on this page are as published by the airport. Technical figures are published for planning only — confirm current runway, approach and fire category data against the UAE AIP and with the operations desk before you file.
