How Ras Al Khaimah International Airport handles personal data collected through this website and the enquiry forms on it — what we hold, why we hold it, how long, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who this policy covers
Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (RKT / OMRK) is the controller for the personal data described here. This policy covers this website and the enquiry, feedback and request forms published on it.
It does not cover the separate organisations that operate at the airport. Airlines, handling agents, retailers, car rental desks, and the government authorities responsible for customs, immigration and policing each decide for themselves how they use your data and each publish their own notices. Nor does it cover the sites we link to.
02
What we collect
Three kinds of information, and no more than we need for the purpose we collected it for.
- What you send us
- Whatever a form asks for: your name, employer, email address and telephone number, and the content of your message. Operational forms ask for more — aircraft registration and type, flight numbers, dates and times, crew and passenger counts for a handling request; commodity, weight and dimensions for a cargo enquiry.
- What your browser sends
- Your IP address, the pages you open, the page that referred you, and your device, browser and language. This is written to our server logs automatically whenever any website is visited.
- What we store on your device
- Your language choice and colour theme, so the site opens the way you left it. If you consent to measurement, an analytics identifier as well. Nothing we store on your device identifies you by name.
We do not ask for and do not want passport numbers, Emirates ID numbers, payment card details or health information through this website. If you send them to us anyway, we will remove them from the record once your enquiry is closed.
03
Why we hold it
- To answer your enquiry, quote for it, and keep a record of what was agreed.
- To operate the airport: coordinating a handling request, a cargo booking, a pass application or a supplier approach.
- To keep the website available and secure, and to investigate abuse or attack.
- To understand which pages are used, so that the information people actually need is easier to find.
- To meet legal, regulatory, aviation-security and accounting obligations.
- To send you the updates you have asked for, until you tell us to stop.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles or to make automated decisions that affect you.
04
Our lawful basis
We rely on the bases set out in UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and the regulations issued under it, together with the obligations that apply to us as an airport operator in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
- Your consent
- Email updates and optional analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect what we did before you did so.
- Steps towards a contract
- Handling requests, cargo enquiries, leasing and advertising enquiries, and the correspondence that follows them.
- A legal or regulatory obligation
- Aviation safety and security requirements, and records we are required to keep and to produce to the authorities on request.
- The public interest and our legitimate interests
- Running the airport safely, protecting our systems, and keeping the flight information service working.
07
Where it is held
Personal data collected through this website is held on infrastructure located in the United Arab Emirates.
Where a service provider processes data outside the UAE, we transfer it only where the receiving jurisdiction offers an adequate level of protection, or where appropriate contractual safeguards are in place, as UAE data protection law requires. We keep a record of every such transfer and the basis for it.
08
How long we keep it
We keep personal data for as long as the purpose needs it, and then delete it. The current periods are below; where a law, a regulator or an active dispute requires a longer period, that period applies instead.
- General enquiries and feedback
- 24 months from the last contact.
- Handling, cargo and commercial requests
- Five years from the end of the financial year, as commercial and tax records.
- Newsletter subscriptions
- Until you unsubscribe, and then a suppression record so we do not email you again.
- Server and security logs
- 90 days, unless an investigation requires longer.
- Analytics
- 14 months, in aggregate form.
09
Your rights
You can ask us to do any of the following, free of charge, and we will answer within 30 days.
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete data we no longer have a reason to keep.
- Stop or restrict a particular use, including direct marketing.
- Give you the data you provided in a portable, machine-readable form.
- Withdraw a consent you gave us earlier.
We may need to confirm who you are before we act, so that we do not disclose your data to somebody else. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the UAE Data Office.
10
How we protect it
- The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are encrypted in transit.
- Access is limited to the staff whose work requires it, and is logged.
- Our staff are trained on data handling as part of airport security awareness.
- If a breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify the authority and, where required, you.
11
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data about them through it. Arrangements for unaccompanied minors are made with the operating airline, not with the airport, and are governed by the airline's own policy.
12
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will say so on this page rather than change it quietly.
