Routes

Driving here

The airport is signposted from the emirate entrance. Every approach below converges on Digdaga Road for the final stretch.

From Ras Al Khaimah city

Head south out of the city on Digdaga Road and stay on it. The airport is signposted the whole way, and the terminals are the only thing of their size on that stretch of road.

Digdaga Road

From Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra

Leave the island by the causeway and join E11 towards Ras Al Khaimah, then follow the signs for Ras Al Khaimah International Airport onto Digdaga Road. This is the run that matters most to the resorts, and the airport has not yet measured it door to door.

E11Digdaga Road

From Dubai, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain

Take Emirates Road E311 north through Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain. At the entrance to the emirate, follow the signs for Ras Al Khaimah International Airport onto Sheikh Mohammed Bin Salem Road and then onto Digdaga Road.

From Sharjah

The same E311 corridor, one emirate closer. Join it northbound and follow the airport signs at the emirate entrance; the last stretch is Digdaga Road, south of the city.

E311Digdaga Road

From Fujairah and the east coast

Take the E89 Ras Al Khaimah–Fujairah highway to Manama, then the E18, which meets Digdaga Road. Turn onto Digdaga Road for the airport.

From Abu Dhabi

E311 the whole way north, past Dubai and Sharjah, then the airport signs at the emirate entrance. Allow for two rush hours rather than one on a working day.

At the gate

Which terminal

Departures and arrivals are separate buildings with their own entrances and their own parking. There is no landside transfer between them, so it is worth knowing which one you want before you turn in.

  • Flying out — the Departure Terminal. Check-in, security and the departure gates are all in this building, along with the terminal café, which is open around the clock.
  • Meeting a flight — the Arrival Terminal. Passengers come through passport control, baggage reclaim and customs before they reach the arrivals hall, where the car rental desks are.
  • Business aviation and VIP arrivals use the separate VIP terminal; your handling agent will direct the car.

Distances

An interactive map, with terminal and parking detail on it, is a later addition to this site. It is deliberately not embedded here yet: a map that is wrong about where the doors are is worse than no map at all.
