Before you board

How the service runs

24-hour call centre

8001700

Toll free, 24/7

  • Each coach waits 10 minutes at every stop. Be there at least five minutes before the departure time shown.
  • The service carries passengers travelling on a flight from Ras Al Khaimah.
  • Every route is inbound. There is no published bus from the airport back to the other emirates.
  • Allow for the road: routes 1 and 2 are on the move for three and a half hours end to end.
Whether a seat has to be booked in advance, and whether a boarding pass is checked at the door, are not published. Call the 24-hour call centre on 8001700 before you rely on the bus.

Leaving the airport

Going the other way

No airport-to-city timetable has ever been published for the free bus. If you are landing at Ras Al Khaimah, plan on one of these instead.

A taxi from the terminal — the 24-hour call centre covers the whole emirate.

A hire car collected at the desk in the arrivals hall.

The RAKTA public bus, if the timings suit your flight.

Public transport

RAKTA public transport

The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority runs the emirate's public network. The airport does not operate these services, so confirm the current timetable, the fare and where the stop sits at the airport with RAKTA before you travel.

  • Green Line, Al Nakheel to the airport — around AED 8 a trip, roughly hourly between 06:00 and 22:00.
  • RAK Ride, an express service with the airport as one of its main stops — a flat fare of around AED 10 a segment, at two-hourly intervals.
  • Fares are paid with an E-SAQR card or in cash on board.

RAKTA timings and fares change. Treat the figures above as indicative.

Intercity

Al Hamra intercity coaches

Al Hamra also runs scheduled coaches between Ras Al Khaimah and the other emirates. Boarding points are in the city rather than at the terminal, so check where to join before you set out.
